As some of you may have noticed(?) I was in Spanish Pyrenees in November to "shoot" lammergeier. I have already posted a lammergeier blog and also some stuff on Facebook. However, when you`re spending days in a hide by an old carcass in the Pyrenee mountains, other birds do show up as well, and one of the most impressive ones is definitely the black vulture .. with wingspan up to 3,0 m !! Approx 1000 pairs remain as the total European population …. and the trend is unfortunately : negative. The bird was previously extint in the Pyrenee-regionbut has now been successfully reintroduced. I am delighted to show you some go my :

  1. Praktfulle bilder av denne flotte fuglen! Gribber er fascinerende skapninger, med sine svære nebb og klør! Legger merke til at noen har mer fjærkledd hals enn andre. Er det hunn og hann, eller ung og gammel?
