SPARROWHAWKS & JAYS

Eye contact !
D5, 200-400 4,0 / 400mm, f/4,0, 1/3200, ISO 1600

Every autumn Dalen, Norway, offers unique interaction with migrating sparrowhawks and local jays. The jays are beeing fed and hawks are attracted by their mere presence, but seem to be "playing" with them more the really hunting them, .... although sometimes the situations seem to be serious enough (for the jays). All pictures were shot during 3 interesting days in early October.

Thanks to Jostein Hellevik, Dalen Villmarkssenter.

Jostein har hatt mange gjester på sine spurvehauker i høst, og det er antakelig tatt 10 000 vis av bilder av flinke fotografer. Jeg stiller meg ydmykt bak i køen.
